Project: Kisoboka (you can make it) women and girls vocational project
Youth and Women Initiative for Sustainable Development (YWISD), 2022
The project is going to setup a low-threshold, vocational workshop that will train unemployed and unskilled women and girls in Wakiso Sub County especially in Bulaga village: Skills in sewing and bakery. The workshops will be different to usual vocational trainings in reachable and length by tailoring the needs of the target audience. The project is going to equip 100 beneficiaries each skill - 50 people per module with practical hand on skills. Beneficiaries are going to be selected from 6 villages; Bulaga, Ssumbwe, Nabuzinga, Kiwumu, Kalambi and kasasa.
GOAL: To enhance self-reliance and socio-economic integration of women and girls in targeted communities while contributing to the development of Uganda.
Overall Objective: To increase access to sustainable employment opportunities through vocational training following gender equality based model for Women and girls of age 15-38 years.
