Surviving Domestic Violence in Nigeria
Based on her own experience, Louisa has written this book to use as a powerful tool to enables her to continue carrying out her work as a Human and Women’s Rights Defender. The usefulness of this book lies within the fact that it includes personal narrations and offers a step-by-step process of seeking access to justice and the obligations of all institutions of protection from law enforcement, to social welfare, Bar Associations, NGOs and the courts. It also offers a set of strategies for overcoming the traumatic experience and for coping with life after escaping domestic violence drawn out of a combination of personal experiences and existing laws. Louisa aims to engage a wide range of audience so the book and relevant laws are written in lay language.
