Project: Creating an enabling atmosphere to live a life of dignity and decency amongst Dalit women and girls

MERDS proposes this project to highlight and address the exploitation suffered by the excluded and marginalized communities and the human rights violations faced by women and girls. This intervention aims to change the prevailing situation by bringing in grass root level interventions to improve the prevailing human rights violations in villages and work places of Natham block of Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu, India. The planned interventions are provision of awareness, sensitization of communities , formation of support groups, building community capacity and strengthening the capacity of NGOs promoting women`s rights through workshops. The overall objective is to protect and empower girls and women from exploitation and human rights violation imposed on them in the villages.
